This morning as I was pulling into the area I've been and wanted to bow hunt and saw another hunter pulling in ahead of me. I ended up chatting with a guy who was gun hunting to see where he was heading. It worked out we were both going different ways. It was a good conversation as we swapped deer information and wished each other good luck
I geared up heading a ¼ mile into my stand and right before I turned to cut across an opening, I was hit with a flash light beam A guy standing there (also gun hunting) waiting for it to get light before mooching in. We did a little small talk and I was well prepared to head out to another stand I had 1/2 mile away. I didn’t really care to head there seeing I’d be getting there well into the daylight. The guy asked how far I was in to my stand and I told him not far. He then said he would back down the hill and swing below me so I could get to my stand and he wouldn't mess up my morning.
I’m posting this because there still are respectable hunters out there and I tip my hat to both these gentlemen Even though he (actually both were) was in the woods before me, he was cool enough to change his game plan to make it work with mine. Unlike the two guys that came in parking around 7:30 just 100yds up the hill. I yelled twice waving my orange hat as they were gearing up and it did matter to them. They yelled back and then came straight to my stand. I told them there were two other guys in there since dark gun hunting. They just looked at me and said, “yeah so…we don’t care.”
I'm sorry but I just don't understand the thinking of some people However, it was nice to run into some really 1st class guys like I did early light
