Hey all New to the forum. Has anyone here been using the ruger american rifle. I was looking at it for a deer rifle in 308 (something that i can scratch and not worry about) and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with them, good or bad? thanks ;D

I do not, but am intrigued by that rifle. Ruger makes good stuff, and always has. I'm a dyed in the wool Winchester Fan, and really appreciate the Ruger m77 for their bot and extractor set up (very similar to the Win m70). I dont believe the American has the same extractor though, I think it's a whole new action and bolt assembly. I know it does have a 3 lug bolt so that should be a strong and accurate action. The price point is quite good for what you're getting too. It's a nice flat top receiver too...Maybe check youtube to see if anyone has posted a review? If you do get one keep us informed on how you like it.

Could not find too many complaints about it. A bunch of good reviews so I bought in 308 win. So far I like it. its pretty light. The bolt is smooth and trigger is good as far as I am concerned. Is there anyone in the concord area that is good at mounting scopes and bore sighting? I'd like to get a few shots off this week. thanks
