My guess is this Einstien used a 220 or larger on the ground. This is illegal and for a reason! People like this could ruin it for all. Trapping hangs by a thread as it is and with more and more Subaru drivers coming to the state, this is the last thing we need.
MANCHESTER MAN CHARGED IN ILLEGAL TRAPPING CASE
CONCORD, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department has brought forward charges against a 67-year-old man in connection with a recent trapping incident which resulted in the death of a domestic dog.
On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, Melissa Fogelson of Londonderry was walking her 4-year-old golden retriever on a popular walking trail off Old Depot Road near Clark Pond in Auburn. The dog was accidentally caught in an illegally set body-gripping trap.
Fish and Game was notified of the matter on Thursday morning, December 6, and immediately launched an investigation. Conservation Officers were able to quickly identify and locate the trapper, who admitted to setting the trap. As a result of this incident, George Klardie of Manchester has been charged with numerous trapping-related violations and is scheduled for arraignment on those charges in February at the Candia Circuit Court.
According to Conservation Officer Chris McKee, "Mr. Klardie has been very cooperative and remorseful throughout the investigation, and he expects to be held accountable for his actions." Officer McKee added, "This type of tragic incident is very rare and could have been readily avoided if the trap had been legally set."

From what I saw in the video, it looked like a 330. Setting that on land is just asking for trouble. Right off a walking path no less. Too bad it wasn't a snare, the lady could have saved her dog. You're right, dummies like this are what will cause trapping to be outlawed. I dont know what he was targeting, on the video they showed a warden checking a brush pile. He must have made an opening and set the body grip and tossed some bait inside...maybe trying for a coon. Being lazy like that could cause a big loss for trappers in the state.

Who would ever think a 330 on the ground anywhere but Alaska would be a good idea?!?!?!?! EVen there it is getting to be a big problem.
I have a solution to all of these problems....a dog walking season! Make them buy a permit and no one can walk a dog on land they do not own from nov 1st to dec 31st. Sounds fair to me. LOL!
