Not sure how many guys on here have ever had it seeing it more of a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. Some stores (even around here) carry it but it’s not the “real” thing if you ask me. Yes it is scrapple but it’s like comparing a store bought apple pie to your mother’s apple pies. If she makes it like my mother or mother-in-law makes them, there is no comparing When I went down to PA last Sunday for my brothers bench dedication, my one brother picked me up a loaf of scrapple at the local butchers shop. NOT a butcher shop in a grocery store but a real butcher shop where you take or have your cow or pigs sent to be processed Man oh man does this stuff bring back memories of my young days I had it on Tuesday for lunch, Wednesday for lunch again and then for breakfast this morning. Not sure just yet what I’m having on Friday but if I were to make a bet, it will probably be scrapple He brought me up a 7-8lb loaf and had it cut into quarters. Each quarter chunk was then vacuum sealed so I can freeze it. If anyone wants to ever try real Pennsylvania Dutch made scrapple, let me know
