So I have to admit I am one of those guys that does not shoot a lot before the season.
This year I set a goal of harvesting my first whitetail with the bow. So to get ready I put my self on a 3-4 times a week shooting schedule. I got the Golden Eagle a new string and arrows, picked a up a new Redhead target from Basspro, and started out going easy.
24-36 arrows a night at 10yds and 20yds.
10yds to work on form, then I go back to twenty and add a little distance while practicing my form.
Have to admit that it came back pretty quick. I am getting groups with all the fletchings touching, and feeling more and more in tune wth the bow everytime I shoot. Plan on sticking to this for one more week than going back to 30yds, and hoepfully by August be shooting out to 40yds.
40yds is my self imposed distance limitation. With my bow and ability anything farther is pushing the limits of a good shot.

A great thing to start doing Rob I am also one that doesn’t shoot 24/7 through out the year. Maybe it’s because I’ve been bow hunting for so many years and shooting ton of 3D for many of those years that I’ve become conditioned to it. As long as I keep my bow tuned and my equipment in working order, it takes just a few shots to start slamming arrows into the spot I’m holding.

Going pretty good. Did not get out as much last week as I wanted to since I was riding solo with the kids, but hopefully will be out tonight again. Still at 20yds mostly but next week will be jumping out to 30yds.
Seems like all the local farms hayed their fields the last few weeks so I have been going out at night looking at what is hitting the fields instead of practicing.
