Well this gun has been on my wish list for a few years and now it will be here soon I ordered up this exact same gun on Friday. For years I’ve always used my smokepole in place of a shotgun in shotgun only areas. Now I can leave the T/C home for something a little lighter, probably more accurate and quicker on 2nd shots

They are tempting! Right now I bow hunt both muzzle loader season and in shotgun only areas. It would be nice to carry a shotgun that's more like a rifle. What do those things weight?

I read it to be 6.75lb on a review on www.chuckhawks.com/savage_slug_gun.htm. However, on the Savage Arms site it’s listed at 7.5lb so there’s no telling at what it might be. If it’s on the heavier side, that’s OK seeing it should help eat the recoil. My Omega is listed at 7lb but as you probably already know, the weight of the barrel makes the gun carry weird. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Omega! It’s just I’d rather not carry that thing shouldered for too long. The guy that did the review in the link about is in this YouTube video shooting the 220. Here’s a link to the guy in NC that did another review and where I snagged the photos

Well after a plow season of putting a lot of my earnings into repairs & then for new plow today I picked up my Savage 220F & it’s finally home I had my T/C Hawken Hunter 1.5-5x32 scope put on top of it so now I need to order up some ammo for it. I’ve narrowed my sight-in test down to the most popular loads I’ve heard guys talking about that shoots the best out of it. I figured I’d see how the Remington Accutips & the Federal Barnes Expanders do first before testing other ammo. I'll post up a few photos of it in a day or two & I'll also be sure to keep up with how it does on the range for those interested

My son and I took a road trip for 20ga slug ammo this morning. Ended up getting more than I wanted to test out for starters but hey, the responsible thing is to cover all that’s available in order to see what works best I was trying to just eliminate the 2-3/4 loads I found first then work on 3” loads but couldn’t pass on the Winchester 3” loads. I just love the Supreme Elite ammo too much so grabbed it when I saw it.
