Well got out early Sunday with a few good friend to see what kind of damage we could do on the crow population. Turns out I did a ton of damage! I did a lot of shooting lane clearing and I did damage on my crow shell cache
All jokes aside, it was a very fun time Started off the day giving the 20ga a try but after the third set up, I released the 12ga put a few down. Morning started off great with no wind but on our second set, the no wind was no more. It actually got pretty darn right brutal on the one set. It makes the calling tough and finding the right lead in the windy conditions tough as well. A lot of my shots had me dumb founded as to why they didn’t fall. I mean other than the obvious that I missed; I thought I had the right lead on them
Over all we took down 7 crows and 1 pigeon. My totals for the year are now at 8 and know that there’s at least one crow that’s definitely heavier than he was when he flew in front of me. I peppered him and then TC peppered him. As he flew across the field we both thought he was going to drop but he never did.
Sorry not one of my better field photos but it was a long day, tired and I was hurting pretty bad. I slammed my bottom on the ground and took a nasty slide down a some what steep frozen bank. As the day went on, it hurt more and more. Next time I’ll be sure we take a proper field photo
There's 6 crows and 1 pigeon in this photo. The 7th crow actually hopped his crippled butt off the battlefield and we couldn't find it
